Datanamix Customer Management in a Credit Review Workflow

Datanamix Customer Management in a Credit Review Workflow

Datanamix Customer Management in a Credit Review Workflow supplies verification and information services that an SME can use when an existing customer record needs another look. The solution supports specific questions about identity, banking details, documents and credit information. It does not make the customer or credit decision.

That distinction defines the workflow. The SME identifies the trigger and lawful purpose, selects the relevant check, interprets the result with its own records and policy, and records the final decision.

The SME defines the question first

A customer review may begin with a limit-increase request, returned communication, changed bank details or a policy-driven review date. Each trigger creates a different question.

The business should decide what it needs to confirm before selecting a service. This keeps the review focused and prevents one result from being used for a purpose it was not intended to answer.

Datanamix supplies several types of information

The published Datanamix Customer Management solution includes:

  • ID Verification using Department of Home Affairs information;
  • Bank Verification for an account linked to an individual or company in South Africa;
  • Batch Analysis for verifying customer data during onboarding and throughout a relationship;
  • consumer credit-report options; and
  • Optical Character Recognition for classifying, extracting and matching information from documents.

These services are related through the customer-review process, but they are not interchangeable. An identity result answers an identity question. Bank Verification checks submitted identity and account details. A credit report contributes to a credit assessment. OCR can help convert document content into structured information for comparison.

The result remains one part of the record

The SME should read each result alongside its own customer file, transaction context, previous communication and internal policy. A mismatch may require direct confirmation rather than an automatic adverse decision. A confirmed identity does not establish affordability. A credit result does not describe the entire commercial relationship.

The review record should preserve the trigger, source, date, material change, unresolved question and decision owner. This gives another authorised reviewer enough context to understand how the information was used.

South African requirements depend on purpose

The Protection of Personal Information Act requires reasonably practicable steps to keep personal information complete, accurate, not misleading and updated where necessary, taking account of the processing purpose.

Accountable institutions may also need to conduct ongoing due diligence under the FIC Act and keep identity-verification information up to date in line with their Risk Management and Compliance Programme. Datanamix services can supply information within those processes, but they do not create a blanket compliance outcome.

Human judgement closes the workflow

Datanamix provides information for the SME to assess. The SME remains responsible for access, lawful use, customer communication, risk appetite and the final decision.

The clearest operating model is therefore: the business asks the question, Datanamix supplies the selected information, and an authorised person decides what the information means in context. That relationship keeps the service useful without hiding accountability.
