Biometrically match 3D proof of life to any ID or Passport document

Biometrically match 3D proof of life to any ID or Passport document

The world’s strongest liveness 3D solution from Facetec

It allows you to match any successful 3D liveness result to over 1400 ID or Passport document templates. In South Africa, companies need to have the ability to securely authenticate customers, (foreign and local) in a non-face-to-face environment, using the customer’s available ID / Passport document.

This might seem like a challenging task at hand, but Facetec can solve this issue, let’s show you how.

You can now perform a 3D liveness verification using the Facetec certified spoof proof technology and at the same time use their advanced ID document OCR matching technology to match the image to the photo in the ID document with a confidence score.

In the same session, Facetec will pull all the document content, such as:

  • name
  • date of birth
  • address
  • passport/ID, and
  • number details.

This will pull into your environment for easy storage and review to complete the digital KYC process. Other features include Identity Document Auto-Capture, & Identity Document Type Auto-Detect, and Identity Document Photo Anti-Tamper Checks.

FaceTec takes it one step further

They do this by also assisting in stronger Identity Document Authentication by making use of near-field communication *(NFC) or barcode scanning technology. This reads the chip in a person’s passport and again matches it to the document OCR data and the 3D Liveness, giving you additional confidence in identifying your customer online.

*(NFC, only available in IOS and Android mobile SDK).

What else makes FaceTec stand out? Let’s take a look at some of the most important facts:

Facetec is Security Certified #1 in the world

  • They take the #1 spot due to the following reasons:
  • They have Certified Level 1 & 2 Spoof Detection by NIST/NVLAP LAB
  • They have independent 3rd-party testing with OWASP, iBeta Level 1 and iBeta Level 2.
  • They have a Spoof Bounty Programme that allows the public to try and spoof them and if they manage the person will receive a payout amount.
  • And they have never been spoofed before.

They have Anti-Spoofing and Anti-Tamper Checks

  • The ID photo is checked to ensure it is not a digital spoof.
  • The ID Scan is checked to ensure a Full ID is presented.
  • The ID photo is checked to ensure that the face region has not been replaced or tampered with.
  • The ID photo is checked to make sure that the text on the document has not been tampered with. This will detect the replacement of the text in either a digital artifact or a physical ID.

Facetec has over 1400 pre-built ID document templates

These templates range from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, these are available for free to use as / and when required. What’s more, FaceTec only charges clients for successful 3D liveness results, all other matching services such as ID/Passport OCR and matching are completely free.

FaceTec will provide you with all the following information once a person does a video selfie and send through their ID or Passport:
